I voted with my pocket book and this review. In my opinion and experience, there are alternative facilities in the area for same daily rate with much better facilities in all areas. It is my opinion and recommendation that you seek alternative accommodations if travelling working or staying in the area.
If the paying client of the motel is not getting the service that they are paying for and the motel has an available empty room that has the ability to supply the services they require .... Do you think the motel management would say sorry for the inconvenience ... we have a room that suits your needs ... no additional charge.
I live 200 plus days a year in motels and travel across Canada and the US. Am a top tier diamond/gold/elite member (depending on what they call it) with several chains.
Rooms were clean ... I give them that but the rooms I saw were in definite need of updating as there are chairs with ripped upholstery, holes in the wall, peeling paint in the corners and water stains on the bathroom cupboards. They say they are upgrading and redoing and all the more power to them and I am all for supporting mom and pop shops because it adds so much flavour to travel for one thing and supports the little businesses (been small business owner - I know what it is like)
In my travels, I have yet to experience any motel from small to large to deny providing an alternative room at no additional charge when available. And have yet to date experienced management representatives in such a way.
Do you, reading this review, believe that providing service like that is and should be standard fare in the hospitality industry ? Would be part of regular and proper customer service? Would you agree ?
Would you expect management representatives to effectively blame the customer for the attitude and lack of understanding ?
